The cruise line
I have been into Caribbean cruise before but for my spouse, it was the first time. We went for a Western Caribbean trip and the cruise line selected was Carnival Cruise lines. The name of the ship was Carnival Conquest. We boarded on cruise from New Orleans after we packed our bags and checked into a hotel in New Orleans, a day before. Thus, we got sufficient rest before we started our excursion.
Our Caribbean Cruise Preparations
After a good rest, the day of your journey arrived finally. At the early morning, we reached the dock. On the dock, the passengers were unloaded from the Carnival Conquest and after that the cruise was made ready for its next trip to Western Caribbean.
The luggage porters told us the boarding time would be 10 am but the people were already standing in the long queue to enter the cruise. We then took our boarding pass and the "sail & sign" and then showed them to the security personnel to get into the ship.
All these procedures took around two more hours and it was actually 12:00 pm when we got on board finally. The wait was long but certainly not tiring. Carnival cruise takes good care of food and we already had our foods ready and started our Caribbean cruise.
The first day at the cruise
The cruise was carrying around 3000 passengers. We were waiting for our luggage that was kept for security checking. As there are so many passengers, it is obvious that why the checking time is so long. Finally, we got our luggage and we were happy.
Actually, we were waiting for our luggage because we were dying to get into the swimming and our swimming costumes were inside the luggage. After swimming, we too part in several entertainment activities and sight seeing. Around 8 in the evening, we headed for dinner.
Exciting Moments on Cruise
The first day was good but the actual pleasure of the Western Caribbean cruise was waiting for us in the second and the third day. We sailed through the Mississippi river and reached the Gulf of Mexico. In these two days, we enjoyed a lot. We participated in the lounge trivia, gambled in the casino, soaked up the sun, hit the gym and took some fabulous drinks.
