Other Types of Fishing Gear Most Miss
The sport of fishing can be dated back to more than 10,000 years, and it is believed that it has been around since the beginning of evolution. When you are fishing though, you must know why you are doing this, some people do it for the fun of, the pure sport, they catch, they get their picture taken with the fish and then they release it. Others might fish to put food on the table, or they may fish for a living so restaurants and grocery stores can supply fish to consumers.
So if you are ready to get involved in this wonderful sport there are some basic fishing tackle items that you will need. Since there are many types of fishing that can be done, I am going to cover the basic types of tackle you will need for saltwater fishing inshore, such as flats fishing.
We will start with the fishing rod and reel, fully equipped with the fishing line, leader, and sinkers or cork if necessary. Of course you will also have your choice of bait to, whether you want to go artificial or you want to use live bait is your choice, both have their strengths and weaknesses.
One thing that I constantly forget to bring with me on the boat is a net to scoop the fish out of the water with. This is not essential to have but it will greatly lower the odds of you loosing a prize fish because they shake them selves off of the hook before they get into the boat.
One thing that every angler should have in their possession is a cast net. They come in many different sizes from a couple of feet to nearly 20 feet. Once you learn how to throw the bigger ones getting you live well full of live bait will be extremely easy.
A trolling motor for your boat is also a very handle tool when you are fishing inshore. This can be helpful for any type of mangrove fishing and also bass fishing on lakes. There are a lot of bays also that do not allow boats to enter certain areas, unless they have a trolling motor or paddle to move the boat.
